RIP Alexander Solzhenitsyn
Yesterday, Solzhenitsyn died at age 89, apparently of heart failure. The world has lost a great writer.
And I am reminded that I need to read The Gulag Archipelago. (One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch was amazing, even the second time around, when I had to read it for school.)

Here here. The Gulag Archipelago is one of the toughest books I've ever read. Beyond that, it's simply beautiful.
"A stone is not a human being. And even stones get crushed."
Unfortunately, Solzhenitsyn was a pretty intolerant man himself. Instead of being against Communism for individualist reasons, rather - he supported a regime of antisemitism and archaic traditions.
Still, he will be greatly missed.
And get reading!
